Call for Artists — Mirror Images: Pop Cultures Global Reflections
OCAD University’s International Programs & Collaborations Office (IPCO) is inviting OCAD U students and students from our global partner institutions to participate in a student-led international collaborative poster exhibition, curated by IPCO Student Monitors Hyun Bin Moon, Aaryan Pashine, and Ashley Zhao from the Graphic Design program. This exhibition explores how popular culture and mass media—films, TV shows, music, comics, advertisements, and social media—shape our identities and the way we understand the world. As powerful yet double-edged cultural forces, they connect and inform us while also overwhelming us with fast, shallow consumption.
We’re calling on artists and designers worldwide to share works that reflect how individuals in a rapidly changing world navigate, redefine, and express their sense of belonging through media. By gathering diverse global perspectives, this exhibition will highlight the visual symbols, narratives, and lived experiences that define today’s media environment and influence our emotions, values, and collective imagination.
All forms of artistic expression are welcome—from drawing and painting to digital design, photography, and multimedia. Selected works will be translated into poster format and displayed in an exhibition at OCAD University. This call is open to all current undergraduate and graduate OCAD U students, as well as students from partner institutions around the world.
Submission Deadline: Sunday, January 11th, 2026 (11:59 PM EDT)
